Stuart Brand’s Diagram of the different layers within a building will be a large focus into how we should design. With this in mind it is important to know how a building works and to design accordingly to it, one of the layers may be more flexible than the other, say for instance it could be more flexible in the structural layer and the building components change or it could be more flexible in the skin layer where the facade adapts to the needs.
